Beyond the Chemistry: Social Responsibility
Building a great CMO…
In the life sciences industry today, the basic expectation is that a company provides a quality product, on-time, and for a reasonable price. A company is considered good if these basic expectations are met. But what makes a company great? A great company goes Beyond the Chemistry.™ It understands the importance of employee satisfaction in building a sustainable company with engaged employees who have a shared vision — but also that vision comes from strong leadership and a focus on the greater good. It includes understanding how we can have a positive impact on society, not only with the products we produce, but also through the importance we place on minimizing our environmental impact, and improving the common good.
Kingchem is a different kind of company. We understand that the basic expectation, namely to deliver a quality product, on-time, and for a fair price, is not enough. That’s why Kingchem Life Science has developed over the past quarter of a century a demonstrated track record that we call Beyond the Chemistry,™ which includes:
- Putting Employees First:
Our strength comes from the entrepreneurial spirit of our employees — their submitting ideas and criticisms, being energized by change, and enjoying a challenge while staying agile and self-accountable. Their innovative thinking, dedication and friendliness creates the added value customers gain by partnering with them through us.
- Focusing Always on Achieving Customer Trust:
Customer trust is gained through our understanding the full range of the customer’s needs: Personal service, proactive communications, anticipating their needs and issues, while offering reliability and quality.
- Maintaining a Strong Vision on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR):
The Kingchem CSR Pledge: We conscientiously and proactively commit to support — and continuously strive for improvement — regarding EHS issues in all our operations. As well, we strive for quality of life for our employees; fairness, ethics and respect in our business affairs; and respect for the laws of the countries we operate in. To support this pledge, each employee of Kingchem is required and urged to think Beyond the Chemistry.™ We ask each employee to seek their own answer to what it means to be a good citizen within society, how to work with passion to improve the quality of life of those touched by their work, and how to improve the overall common good of humanity. We know our global community depends on each of us for this. To this end, Kingchem Life Science has also instituted strict polices on not only human trafficking, child labor and slavery, but even on more granular related topics as document surrender, employment fees, accurate work agreements, prevailing wages, return transportation fees, housing and safety standards, and freely chosen labor. We also promote a discussion about these topics across continents by way of our own data collection through the use of the Social Responsibility Alliance’s Slavery & Trafficking Risk Template regarding our suppliers, and by notifying those suppliers of our requirement that such behaviors are forbidden within our supply chain.
