Kingchem has announced the January 1, 2016 launch of its newest company: Kingchem Life Science LLC. The new company — a wholly-owned, U.S. subsidiary of the Kingchem Liaoning Chemical Co. Ltd. — will allow Kingchem to further expand its business and meet future regulatory requirements in China’s capital markets. It’s purpose is to take over the sales of all of Kingchem products manufactured in-house, while its pre-existing sister company, Kingchem LLC, will now concentrate solely on Kingchem’s third-party distribution business.

This new development in Kingchem’s continued growth, goes hand in hand with Kingchem’s significant recent investments in plant capacity, ESH, the doubling of its R&D facilities, and increases in analytical equipment. As well, Kingchem expects to break ground for a new GMP plant in early 2016.

In reality, the new company, Kingchem Life Science LLC, is primarily an internal reorganization within Kingchem. All contact information for Kingchem will remain unchanged, and the sales and customer-service teams of its current chemical business unit in the USA will continue to service Kingchem’s customers. Customers have, however, recently been advised by letter that the addition of the new corporate entity may mean changes in the submission of purchase orders regarding orders of Kingchem’s in-house products. Kingchem anticipates a smooth transition, though, as the entire family of Kingchem companies – old and new — remains highly committed to Kingchem’s tradition of award-winning customer service.

Kingchem, a key manufacturer of fine chemicals and fluoro-organic compounds, has recently completed investments in total work center volume at their Liaoning China manufacturing facility. The expansion enables a doubling of their manufacturing capacity, including the fluorination reagents Pyridine HF, Triethylamine HF and Urea HF. The expansion will relieve internal manufacturing constraints and provide needed capacity for a growing market. In addition, Kingchem is also expected to become one of the major producers of Pentafluoro Phenol by the second half of 2015.

American-owned and Western-managed, Kingchem is one of the major manufacturers of fluoro-organic compounds in China, and serves global markets in the Pharmaceutical, Agrochemical, Fine and Specialty Chemical industries. The company, which recently celebrated its 20th anniversary, also announced that it has completed its investments to its waste treatment and environmental controls as part of a recent 10 million dollar investment plan at the Liaoning facility.

Kingchem’s unique business success was highlighted by events covered by the news media as the company celebrated its twentieth anniversary (1994-2014). One event, held in Shanghai, gathered 100 of Kingchem’s staff, customers, guests and friends in the city for CPhI week. Soon thereafter, over 200 participants gathered in the city of Fuxin, Liaoning, China (see photos below). In addition, The Fuxin municipal government also extended a congratulatory and informational exchange meeting between Kingchem and governmental authorities.

Three articles, and also television coverage, appeared as offshoots of the events. One article, appearing in a national journal of China, Science & Technology Daily (14 July 2014), recounted the story of Kingchem’s unique rise from a distributorship wrestling an old organic chemical plant into a current modern enterprise of manufacturing, R&D, commercial and logistics facilities on two continents (North America and Asia).

Two other articles appeared in the Fuxin Daily, the newspaper of Fuxin. A city of two million, Fuxin is located in Liaoning province, China, and is the home of Kingchem Liaoning Chemical Co., Ltd, one of the Kingchem family of companies.

One Fuxin Daily article (26 June 2014) noted Kingchem as a key driving force in the creation and development of the Fuxin Fluorochemical Industrial Park. The article also highlighted Kingchem Liaoning Chemical Company’s General Manger, Liu Guangsheng, as reporting on the successful merging of talent from the two continents as a prime reason for Kingchem’s strong growth. The conscientious oversight of Kingchem’s hiring practices by CEO Fumin (Stephen) Wang is cited as a further reason for the model’s success. General Manager Liu underscored the importance of Kingchem’s well-educated and talented staff by labelling it as Kingchem’s “strategic reserve.”

The second Fuxin Daily article (1 July 2014) reported on a meeting between Kingchem CEO Fumin (Stephen) Wang, Kingchem executives, the Mayor of the city of Fuxin, Zhonglin Yang, and Vice Mayor Donghai Jin. During the meeting, Mayor Yang congratulated Kingchem on its 20 years of success and noted Kingchem’s contribution to the area’s economy. Kingchem CEO Wang thanked the Fuxin municipal government for its support. Mr. Wang went on to say that Kingchem, a company headquartered in the U.S., will continue making its contribution to the area through continuous investments in research and development, and the further expansion of the company’s Fuxin chemical plant.

Kingchem’s unique business success, particularly in the area of merging Chinese and Western talent in the area of human resources, was featured in the Fuxin Daily, the newspaper of the city of Fuxin (Liaoning Province, China).

Published in light of Kingchem’s 20th anniversary in 2014, the article covered Kingchem’s special record of success in Liaoning province through the Kingchem Liaoning Chemical Co., Ltd — a member of the Kingchem family of companies — as a key driving force in the creation and promotion of the Fuxin Fluorochemical Industrial Park.

The park, founded in 2008, is a project of both the Fuxin municipal and Liaoning provincial governments. Because the park is aimed to become China’s Fluorochemical Capital in future, Kingchem will continue to receive strong local governmental support in the park’s development.

The Fuxin Daily article recognized Kingchem as a growing multi-national company with facilities located in Asia and North America. Highlights of the article included Kingchem Liaoning Chemical Company’s General Manger, Liu Guangsheng, as reporting on the successful merging of talent from the two continents as a prime reason for Kingchem’s strong growth.

The article continued to touch upon the Kingchem Liaoning Chemical Company’s very strong growth as a contributing factor in the Kingchem group’s overall growth. As well, it commented on how the strengths of the company’s R&D facility in Dalian (China), how an effective commercial and administrative headquarters in New Jersey (USA), and how a highly talented international sales team throughout the company have all also served as an engine of growth for Kingchem.

Kingchem’s global perspective, the educational background of its professional staff on both continents, and the efficiency of its internal operations across borders, were also reported by CEO Wang as the basis for Kingchem’s future expansion into Europe.

The article also illustrated how achieving maximum customer satisfaction has been critical to the success of Kingchem. CEO Wang pointed out the company’s recent award for performance excellence from Johnson & Johnson, one of the top pharmaceutical companies in Kingchem’s high-end U.S. corporate customer base.

However, reported CEO Wang, creating a quality of life for its employees and making a contribution to society are also major driving forces for Kingchem. Further, Mr. Wang also cited product development, expanding markets, and significant recent physical-plant infrastructure investments in Fuxin as additional factors leading to the vitality of Kingchem’s optimism regarding its future ambitions.

Science & Technology Daily, a national journal in China, recently recounted the story of Kingchem’s rise as a small U.S. distributor growing an abandoned and dilapidated factory in Fuxin, China, while expanding into a strong and modern manufacturing enterprise with manufacturing, R&D, commercial, logistical and administrative facilities now on two continents. Coverage of the inspirational story in its July 14, 2014 issue was prompted by Kingchem 20th anniversary celebration events held during CPhI week in Shanghai and Fuxin.

Kingchem founder and CEO, Fumin (Stephen) Wang, the journal reported, described the trajectory and struggles of the company’s early growth – from learning there was a market need for an agrochemical intermediate, to acquiring a wretched and old organic chemical plant, to seeking an integration of Eastern and Western ideas and abilities, to top management’s focus on bringing in the right talent for the job.

Along the long road to success by Kingchem were many difficulties, recounted CEO Wang: From the small and mundane to the loftier and more abstract. Cleaning sacks of bird droppings accompanied figuring out how to develop Kingchem’s forward-looking modern-enterprise business philosophy. Breaking old local industrial habits went hand in hand with introducing modern methods while upgrading an environmentally substandard facility. Concerns over prodding production and R&D units to perceive and act on market needs arose, while the plant’s true potential had to wait for Kingchem to take full ownership in order to focus as strongly as necessary on the pressing need to develop the company’s enterprise-wide talent pool.

Kingchem’s early plant infrastructure restoration was meant to create a stable supply of products in order to serve the company’s long-term development through satisfying customer demand for supply chain security. However, difficulties in its early history with a lack of equipment and poor facilities had to be withstood as the company struggled to upgrade on all levels.

CEO Wang was also able to recount good fortunes during Kingchem’s rise. Kingchem has, for example, acted as an engine of the government’s project to establish and expand China’s fluorine industry. As well, finding such top talent as Kingchem Liaoning Chemical’s general manger Guangsheng Liu and others powerfully impacted the plant’s rise.

GM Liu also remembered well the years it took to bring Kingchem’s early manufacturing facility around. While recounting the long process of introducing increasingly scientific method into plant procedures, he reported that even simply finding space to place instrumentation was once problematic at the Fuxin manufacturing facility.

Today Kingchem still benefits from its early years of self-improvement. Recent upgrades to the company’s now much upgraded plant are proof of the company’s continuing strict self-discipline in its pursuit of market values while also, for example, adhering to environmental values. Recent upgrades to waste facilities alongside the continued building of new workshops and other facilities at the plant stand as just one example.

Relating how far the company has come now that Kingchem has four facilities on two continents, CEO Wang also touched on the talent of his New Jersey-based (USA) sales force and its ability to track the market. He went on to discuss the global reach of Kingchem today, its close focus on the needs of customers, the company’s integration into the market and its fight for market share.

Today, the previously sleeping potential of an abandoned plant has through talent, capital, modern management and passion awoken to become the dynamic future of a company now on two continents.

The 20th anniversary and strong success of the Kingchem group of companies was noted during a recent meeting between Kingchem CEO Fumin (Stephen) Wang, Fuxin city Mayor Zhonglin Yang and Vice Mayor Donghai Jin. Fuxin City is located in Liaoning province in China, and has a population of approximately two million.

The meeting was held to promote further exchanges of information and cooperation, according to reporting on 1 July 2014 by the Fuxin Daily, the city’s newspaper.

Kingchem is a key driving force in the promotion of the Fuxin Fluorochemical Industrial Park through its facility in the park, the Kingchem Liaoning Chemical Company. The park was founded in 2008 by both the Liaoning provincial & Fuxin municipal governments. Kingchem is playing a major role in developing the park into a key facility of the fluorochemical industry.

During the meeting, Mayor Yang congratulated Kingchem on its 20 years of success and noted its contribution to the area’s economy. The mayor pointed out that fluorine chemical production is a high-tech, high value-added industry with wide application, which brings resources, talent and technological advantage to the area.

He noted that the government attaches great importance to the industry, vigorously supports it, and that he looks forward to the government’s continued support of it providing even greater ‘win-win’ mutual benefit for both the Fuxin area and Kingchem.

CEO Wang thanked the Fuxin municipal government for its support. Kingchem, a company headquartered in the U.S., will continue making its contribution to the area, he went on to say, through continuous investments in research and development, and the expansion of the company’s Fuxin area chemical plant. He said Kingchem looks forward to making an even greater contribution to the economic and social development of the area.
